IID Director Absent From Meetings
Imperial Irrigation District Division One Director Mike Abatti has been absent from the last three IID Board of Director's meetings.
IID officials have confirmed that Abatti is ill, and is being treated in a San Diego hospital. No other details about Abatti's condition are available. It is not known when Abatti will again be able to attend IID meetings.
"The Board is operating on the assumption Director Abatti will return, but we don't know when that will be," said Kevin Kelley, Community Relations Representative for the IID.
The Board of Directors consists of five voting members. Without the presence of Abatti, the potential for tie votes is a possibility.
